Do Parents need to stay?
For the first couple of classes, we recommend parents to be present as their child adapts to their new surroundings. After that, it is completely up to you whether you’d like to stay and watch or go run and errand or have some “me” time!
What do we need to bring?
For trial and initial classes, participants just need comfy clothes that they can move and get sweaty in plus a water bottle!
My child is very shy, will they be able to do the class?
Every child is different! Some kids are super outgoing and adventurous while others can be shy and curious. The wonderful thing about lil dragons is that through this class, we can encourage them to unlock those new social and behavioral skills! It’s why we offer free trial classes ~ you never know what you can get until you try!
How often are the classes? For how long?
Currently our classes run twice a week, Mondays & Wednesdays, from 5-6 PM (1 hour). Sometimes because of the age group, this can be a long time, but never fear! We incorporate a lot of fun activities with the trainings so we can keep them on their toes and keep them moving.
My child has a disability, will they be able to do martial arts?
The wonderful thing about martial arts is that it’s an individually driven activity that teaches important life skills while being placed in a group surrounding. Which means that a person’s “limitations” or “disabilities” shouldn’t be what stops them from trying and learning new things. We’ve been around for 34+ years and have had many kinds of students with mental and physical challenges, for example, students with ADHD or those who are Deaf and it’s never stopped them from achieving their martial arts goals.
